Crack Pairing Meme *gets wierd looks* WUT?

Had this on her page, and since you have to do a meme at some point on dA I decided to to one for the hell of it. And to boggle more innocent minds as to the why I ass pat this paring from hell.

-Who's the lucky *snerk* couple?

Nemesis (a.k.a. Nemmy) and Jill Valentine


-What fandom are they from?

Resident Evil (specifically RE3)


-What species are they?

A modified Tyrant (are bio weapons a species?) and a human


-How did you get into the pairing? What or who made you first think of them as a couple?

Actually it was more a dare. A joke was made amongst friends back when RE3 came out (yes I'm olld) that aside from hentai this could never in all logic work. I being a sadist (or masochist depending) set out to prove them wrong - as Rule 34 dictates that if one thinks of it, it must exist.


-Why do you like to pair them?

Maybe it's my penchant for Beauty and the Beast pairings. Maybe it's because I know full well it won't be written into cannon (hell Nemmy dies at the end of 3 lol) and so I don't get all worked up when events in future games happen. Maybe it's the pure fact that unlike more likely pairings like Chris and Jill or Leon and Ada (or Claire even) and that one's not human that making it 'work' would involve dare I say it oodles of crack filled creativity. I.E. It's terribly extremely hard to set them together while I could easily pair off the others due to common things like fighting bioterror/Umbrella/TriCell ect.

Or - maybe it's simply for the lulz.


-What's their relationship like in their fandom? Do they get along or hate each other? Do they often appear together, or have they never even been in the same scene?

Well he totally stalks her and tries to punch her face in. A lot.

In all seriousness he's the big bad and she's trying to escape him. Their interactions consist of her running, him chasing, and gun fire to the head and dodging tentacles. Cause Capcom totally just wanted to put a tentacle monster in a pervy trench coat into a game choking a questionably clad woman...for the lulz.

I'm on to you Capcom.


-Is there anything in the fandom that suggests they might be a potential couple-- flirting, suggestive comments by other characters, UST? Or is your pairing of them totally out of the blue?

Hilarious stalkerish in jokes aside, no. Totally bad guy versus good gal scenario. I totally do it out of my raging madness.


-Have you written fan fiction based on your pairing?

Why yus. Yus I have. For a good while. At first admittedly smut. Then I started to seriously pair them as a couple for comedic purposes but lately have sort of molded around a series of serious fics that I think makes the situation 'plausible'.


-Have you done any art of them together?

Nah. Thought about it but my drawing skills are of teh suck.


-What have been other fans' reactions to this pairing, if you've told anyone about it?

Disbelief, comedy, to the few that are like right on dudette - you crazy shrew, you.


-If other people are fans of the pairing too, just how popular is it? Do lots and lots of people like it; are you part of a small, devoted community; or are you the only one who likes it?

I actually thought for awhile I was the only one, but I came on here and found a few others. An old fic by someone else was up here but they left dA before I could read. Heard it was awesome too /cry. But there are shippers out there - I heard they named em Nemill. Sounds like Emerill the chef lawl.


-Describe a little of how you think your couple might hook up-- if you could bring them together, how would it happen?

It would for one have to be AU. The ending of RE3 and the progression of the over all convoluted cannon requires this (though isn't all FF truly AU?). As Nemmy is only depicted as a homicidal one track minded villain, I find not unnecessarily toning that down is key. I've seen fiction give him a sense of humanness which is awesome - but he's known for being an op bad ass so I try to keep empathy at minimum. Writing him as less 'evil' and more equal opportunity killer as his motives aren't because it's 'wrong' (I doubt Tyrants as they are not human have such a concept anyway) but because it's in his nature to and that humans are just low on the totem pole. Think humans versus other animals. That line of thinking. Also the commands that Umbrella input into him would have to be explained away at some point since those very commands are what compels him to be especially so aggressive towards Jill in the first place.

Jill would have to in my head be very forgiving (I mean he does like impale a comrade in the face and all), and see 'good' in him, and/or be at some level along the same wave length as him. I.E. she herself finding the world a bit pointless, a sense of her acting out against what she could see as a pointless ongoing battle against bio terror. Or maybe pity, or hate, or for just simply he was there. There's a myraid of deeper mental reasons why Jill would act on possible darker themes with him (which is why my srz bizness fics tend to not be light). Just because you pair a couple doesn't mean they have to be in love with each other. I'm looking at you Chris/Wesker!


-What obstacles exist in the fandom that might try to prevent them from being together? How would you overcome these obstacles?

Well lets see. Many: a lot of people pair off Chris and Jill together alot for the sheer fact they've been partners since RE1. Now save for (I could be wrong now!) Barry, the Birkins, and Steve (Claire I don't recall answers him directly back) not many of the RE characters are specifically said in games where their hearts lie or even preferences. Because of this most fan pairings are of speculation and reading into the games (I ignore the movies/books as they are not part of the in game cannon). But many parings are taken as gospel - nothing wrong with this, just that breaking up said gospel may step on a few toes. I tend to either gloss over Chris (even though I like that silly bear, just not his roid rage arms) or try to put hopefully believable dissension into their relationship. Or not 'break' then up at all - relationships are never neat where you break up and pounce on others.

But a big one is the fact that she's human, he's not. Aside from giving him free will from taking out his directives he isn't going to ever fit into human society, not that I'd think he'd want to. Unless the AU glosses over and sees Tyrants as normal occurrence this could be a big hurdle (or force him into hiding).


-Once they were together, what would their relationship be like? Would it be smooth sailing, or would there be lots of angst and fighting?

Smooth sailing - pfft. It would start more than likely with doubt on her end. She would question the why, and likely not mention it to others at first. He is an inherently aggressive creature. Tyrants in general kill first, and well kill second. I'd like to think because she is ballsy enough to take a stand against him earned her brownie points with him. But that being said he's more than likely to take a stronger female more seriously than a 'woe is mee dunn kill meh big monster guy!'

This would in all likely hood pit them in a power struggle, one trying to top the other. This would breed resentment on his end - not enough to just kill her; the struggle ironically would keep his interest. Kinda like the dynamics of an alpha and omega wolf. The fact that both kill (him out of predatory instinct and her for mere survival) and both in some way or another are pawns in bigger schemes (especially her in RE5) would draw them closer as they share a common angst.

Not the most of romantic settings, but I don't see them as a romantic pairing, at least not right off.


-Would their relationship last? If so, what do you think will keep them together against all odds? And if not, what do you think will finally cause them to end it?

Depends. If the AU accepts non humans he could be written as more of a bastard that is redeemable. If it's a more realistic AU it depends on A. he isn't being hunted down, B. isn't killing people left and right.

It'd end if say they were separated, or either was killed off fighting bio terror. I say fighting loosely cause I only see him helping in a fight for Jill. I never saw Nemmy as really giving a shit about other humans. Either the humans get themselves killed or he would himself. Never said he was nice after all.


-What songs remind you of your pairing?

Depending on my mood. Tyrant by the Bravery to me show cases the power games they'd both be under. Anything by PMM. Dangerous and Moving and Perfect Enemy by t.A.T.u. also inspires me.


-How much, if any, money have you spent on your pairing by buying or commissioning things related to them?

In the middle of getting an art commish done up. A bunch of Biohazard 3 manhua with the daggars. Yes I own a very rare doujin of just those two - was very expensive and a treasured part of my overall artbook/doujin/manga collection. As in the exact amount - what are you, my bank?


-Have you "converted" any fans and made them like this pairing too?

Apparently so going by reader comments. I'm not sure how to take that... /flex Never was a converter type of person (as a Pagan I kinda shy away from that kind of promotion). I doubt it; but to hear fans liking the story for the story's sake is awesome too.
